It’s Over!
November 29, 2008
Today was my interview for UW School of Optometry. I was part of the afternoon session, which was from 1:00 to 5:00pm and there was about 70 interviewees. I think the total number of interviewees is around 150 but only 90 applicants will be admitted (not sure how many people actually applied.. I’m guessing 250ish). There were 3 parts to the whole session: the interview, a round table discussion and a tour. I was lucky enough to be one of the few who had their interviews first.
My interview went by fairly okay, I think. Actually, it was really 3 mini-interviews with different people (kinda like speed dating, but without the fun). Two of my interviewers were really nice; the third one didn’t seem too happy to be there (or with me?) =. But apparently the interview is worth the least, so it doesn’t really matter. I’m just glad its OVER! =D
Some things I found interesting:
- a lot of optometry students are really good looking (even the applicants, lol)
- the ratio of guys to girls is about 1:8
- not a lot of people applied to the States (I thought I was one of a few)
- there are a lot of white people in optometry
- girls from Alberta are really pretty
- 100% employment after graduation
*crosses fingers*
