CS Contour & Blush Palette

December 23, 2008

Coastal Scents is pretty awesome. I placed my order for the Contour & Blush Palette on December 9th and it got here by December 17th. Mind you, this is getting shipped from Florida to Mississauga during the holiday rush, so I thought it would take at least 2 weeks (that’s how long it took last time). I am very impressed with their shipping and concern for their customers. The palette is half the size of my macbook but it came in a huge box with lots of bubble wrap and paper stuffing to make sure the powders don’t crack. And, Coastal Scents always sends you a little something extra. When I first ordered the Ultra Shimmer 88 e/s palette, they also sent me a little sample jar of eyeshadow. This time, they sent me a mini-kabuki brush =)

I really really love this palette. I’m not disappointed at all. All the colours are matte, velvety smooth and well pigmented imo. The only tiny bad thing is that it’s a bit drying on my skin… so I think I have a reason to pick up some Fix+ from MAC yay!

As for these ( . )( . ) …since nobody volunteered their breastesses, I had to try it on myself.

I love all the colours, but I bought it especially for the dark brown and white pans. I’ve been wanting to do contouring & highlighting for a while since my cheeks are SO chubby =( Let’s see if I can have chiseled cheekbones like Blair.

One thing I am happy about is that my Philosophy course is almost over. Words cannot express how much I hated that class. Grrrrrrrrrr! Philosophy just isn’t my thing. I hated how that class was full of discussions (the 2 kids that ever contributed were annoying as hell); the readings were the most brutal readings I have ever done; my book has fallen apart into 3 pieces so I can’t even sell it!

The only class I enjoyed was the last class, not because it was the last class, but because there was a guest speaker. He was this old brown man with a British accent (cool already!) who was an actual bioethicist for some hospital downtown Toronto. He told us lots of awesome stories:

1) There was a car accident on the 401 where the front end of a car was completely smashed into a truck; the driver in the car was stuck and couldn’t get out, and there was gasoline dripping beside him. One policeman arrived at the scene but he couldn’t pull the driver out because the driver would bleed to death. The driver asked the policeman to check how long the ambulance and firefighters would take to get there – another 20 to 30 minutes. The driver knew that there was going to be an explosion before any other help would arrive. He didn’t want to burn to death so he pleaded with the policeman to put him out of his misery. What should the policeman do?… He walked away.

2) A psychiatrist was reading the newspaper one day; he came across an article about a guy who was sent to jail because he committed some come, but the evidence for the crime was only based on one sole witness. The sole witness was his patient, a compulsive liar (hrmm.. know too many of those). The psychiatrist contacted the police and the guy was released from jail. The psychiatrist, however, was not so lucky. He was sued and had his license revoked.

3) A study was done on over 30 000 homeless people in the States. They wanted to find out what the #1 item homeless women searched for in garbage cans (aside from food, of course). Any guesses? This one is kinda disturbing.
